Steel Plate Fabricators supplies custom steel doors with observation windows for the Black Bear Enclosures. The bears are rehabilitated and release back into the wild after they have been orphaned, injured or in need of medical care.
Steel Plate Fabricators has made valuable donations of supplies, work hours, and fabricated parts as well as raw material for the STEMpunks robotics team. Every component was vital to the robot and its being competitive in the field.
The Department of Defense office awarded Steel Plate Fabricators with the 2013 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award. The Freedom Award is the DoD’s highest recognition given to employers for exceptional support of Guard and Reserve employees. These employers distinguished themselves among the 2,899 nominations. The President of Steel Plate Fabricators, Mike Russell, received the award at the White House and met with the President and Vice President of the United States, and the Secretary of Defense and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
